St. Martin Monastery

 

logo st MartinSt. Martin Monastery is a community of 21 Benedictine women in Rapid City, South Dakota. Located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, the Sisters give witness to God’s presence through communal life, prayer, and work. Following the Rule of St. Benedict, they offer hospitality through various forms of ministry to the people of this area. The Sisters extend their ministries beyond the monastery at Terra Santa Retreat CenterElizabeth Seton School, the Good Samaritan Society, and the Merciful Love Connection.

 


Weekly Monastic Schedule

Monday-Friday:

  • 6:45 AM | Breakfast available (in silence if before prayer)
  • 7:30 AM | Morning prayer
  • 8:00 AM | Eucharist
  • 11:30 AM | Mid-day prayer followed by Lunch
  • 4:40 PM | Evening prayer followed by Dinner

Saturday:

  • 7:15 AM | Breakfast available (in silence)
  • 8:30 AM | Morning prayer (No Mass) 
  • 11:30 AM | Mid-day prayer followed by Lunch
  • 4:00 PM | Scripture reading reflection with Sisters
  • 4:40 PM | Evening prayer followed by Dinner

Sunday:

  • 7:15-8:15 AM | Breakfast available (in silence)
  • 8:30 AM | Morning prayer
  • 11:00 AM | Mass followed by Lunch
  • 4:40 PM | Evening prayer followed by Dinner
